The on-load tap changer is critical for voltage regulation, however, its regulation philosophy suitable one-directional power flow systems. Since distributed generators introduce bidirectional flow, the conventional operation of will be highly impacted, resulting in high magnitudes that exceed acceptable limits, frequent magnitude fluctuations, and increase overall reactive supply when start absorbing/injecting power.
